This was announced at the Android One launching event and would work by introducing an extra button with a downward arrow as an icon under the video, which when pressed give you option to select the video quality you want to download. Its seems like above discussed feature is finally rolling out in India. Guide to Download Youtube videos for Offline Viewing on Android phone

1. First step is to download the latest version of YouTube from here i.e. version 6.0.13

2. Once you downloaded the application just install it in your Android phone. Make sure to check Unknown sources. You will find this option under settings> privacy> unknown sources.

3. Once the latest version of YouTube is installed on your device. Just open the application and you will get a pop up with message i.e “take videos offline, download videos to watch them without internet”. This message confirm that you got the latest feature by Google.

4. To download video, you just need to press extra button with a downward arrow as an icon under the video, which when pressed give you option to select the video quality you want to download.

5. Once your choose the desired quality for downloading a video, the downloading will start in background.

6. You can find all the downloaded videos under “offline” option which you’ll find at the top of the app screen. You can also header over to settings> offline to make any change to this feature.
